Trip to Labuan Bajo Day 2

Padar Island

Me and Kaka Flori, our local tour guide, singing on the top of Padar Island.
Beautiful Padar Island
Catching sunrise, the view was fantastic!

Woke up earlier.
It's still quite dark outside as we (me and trip partners) headed to Padar island on day 2 in Labuan Bajo. We should be on the top of Padar island before sunrise, intentionally to catch the beautiful sunrise.

Padar island is about 20 miles (30 km) from Labuan Bajo, a fishing town on the westernmost part of Flores. Everything is yellow and dead during dry season (still a beautiful view though!). It’s all surrounded by three turquoise bays, and each bays’ beaches has different colored sand: One is pearly white, another charcoal black, and a third is a rare baby pink. It is a rare combination, a quirk of this unique island.

Best view from the top of Padar Island ♥️
Me and my friends enjoyed singing and watching the sunrise, one of the best day of my life.

It was a looooooong trek yet wasn't as steep as Kelor island. We had to hike around 30 minutes to see a panoramic view. You might feel exhausted to death but trust me, don't ever give up cause the view from above will amazed you. Don't forget to re-apply your sunblock every 4 hours if you don't wan't to get sunburned.

Pink Beach

So, our second destination after catching sunrise in Padar Island was Pink Beach. Many of you maybe asking "is the pink beach in Labuan Bajo really that pink?".
Yes. it really was that pink!

This beach gets its striking color from microscopic animals called Foraminifera, which produces a red pigment on the coral reefs. It is full of mysterious and magical wonders.

The Augustines and that one unique creature called Mas Yudi, our tour leader hahaha

After an hour playing at the beach we found this kind of savanna around.
It was the first pink beach we visited, there were another Pink beach named Long Pink Beach.

Komodo Island

After the sun kissed our skin brutally at the first Pink Beach, we went to our third stop: Komodo National Park. OMG! I was very excited yet scared to see Komodo, the largest lizard on Earth. It growing to a maximum length of 3 meters and weighing up to approximately 70 kilograms. Imagine!

The rangers, that guide and keep us safe from the Komodos

Long Pink Beach (Savanna)

We decided to watch sunset at the second pink beach called long pink beach but we weren't there to see the beach again. We were playing at the savanna of the long pink beach. Before it, we walked around and saw beautiful corals. The water was crystal clear.

Have you ever seen a blue patrick, no, I mean a blue starfish? lol. It's pretty!

The savanna girls. We're very happy enjoying the golden hours.
Our Pinisi boat is on the right side, the light color one.
Me watching the sunset

And we went back to the boat, showered, lied down on the bed until our dinner served. It was such a long day and I was super happy. My body tired but my heart was grateful.

The view from my bed
Pictures I share here isn't comparable to its original beauty. I hope someday you could go there to prove that I am not exaggerated.

Thank you for reading, see you again on the next post :)
