Union Brasserie, Bakery & Bar

One of the reasons that I thank God I live in Jakarta is knowing that there are many café and restaurant which provide good food with a beautiful and comfy circumstance (a nice place to take some selfie :p ). One of them is Union Brasserie, Bakery & Bar which located in Plaza Senayan.
I was really curious about this place when I heard someone says “Union has the best red velvet in Jakarta” and I was like, “really?”. 

Red velvet cake, at that time (or perhaps until now?), was really booming like almost every café, restaurant or coffee shop should have put it on the menu to attract consumer. So, I got myself there at Union to try their Red Velvet and pasta for lunch. It was quite hard to find this place at the beginning because I thought it’s located inside the mall but I was wrong.

I suggest you to reserve in advance to avoid such a looooong waiting list especially at lunch (it’s always happened every time I went there).
I like the full window interior and the ambience there: It looks like greenhouse from the outside. But unfortunately this place is quite noisy and crowded for those who wish for a quiet lunch.

Creamless Carbonara 95K
As its name suggests, this pasta is creamless. Tagliatelle, classic pasta from Italy, served with pork bacon and parmesan cheese. Taste good. However, the small portions of this pasta weren’t satisfying my hungry stomach.

Orecchitte with sea urchin cream 95K
I never try this kind of pasta called orecchite before. It served with crispy chicken skin and chicken sausage and I love it!! I am a fan of creamy pasta and it was really yummy as I expected when I ordered it. The saltiness from the sea urchin blends with the creaminess of pasta sauce made a good combo. This is a must try!

Red Velvet Cake 55K and Carrot Banana Cake 50K
I came here to prove the rumors about their red velvet so I definitely ordered it, besides I also try their carrot cake. They are so good especially the red velvet cake. You won’t get disappointed spending 50K for those big sliced cakes.

Red Velvet Cake
I love everything in this cake. The moist texture of the cake, the frosting, the smells of rum, and the crunchy peanut oh oh I love it.

Carrot Banana Cake
It has unique flavor that I can’t explain and I love it too! 

Red Velvet Cheese Cake 55K
Man, have you ever imagine that cheesecake can be mixed with red velvet in just one sliced? I can’t say anything else but PERFECT!

For drink I ordered Toasted Marsmallow 60K and Equil Natural 50K
Too bad I forgot the taste of the milkshake but as I remember it tasted nice especially for vanilla lovers.
I think this place is good for a quick hangout, tea time or having a coffee break because they only give you an hour or two to have your meal. Enjoy your time there!

PS: This place is more amazing when Christmas. I love how they turned it into a more lovely place with a touch of maroon and dark brown. Such a warm place.

Marugame Udon, the Japanese tasty udon in Bekasi

What comes in your mind when you hear udon? 
I had no idea about udon until my foot stopped in Marugame Udon, Summarecon Mall Bekasi. Udon is a type of thick Japanese wheat noodle usually served with soup and some toppings. I was attracted with the Japanese ambiance of this restaurant that is shown by the interiors. The restaurant put the menu on the top of the cashier with the pictures of udon with various toppings on it. "Impressive!" I said.

The open kitchen concept allows us to see the process of making the food. The self service system requires us to order the food first before we sit in the restaurant. When your udon has finished served, you can pick the additional toppings like ebi tempura, chicken katsu, beef croquette, etc or you can add some spices to fulfill your taste. So, it was the place I chose to try udon for the first time. Marugame has a lot of menu options that all look good, but, I chose niku udon while my friend opted for baitan tori udon.

Niku Udon

This is one of the most favorite udon in Marugame. It contains fresh udon with sukiyaki beef and green onion on the top. I really like the savory sukiyaki soup. It's light and fresh. The sukiyaki beef is tender and tasty. This is absolutely my favorite!

Tori Baitan Udon

It consists of fresh udon with 3 pcs chicken meatballs. The soup is made of fresh thick chicken broth that will pamper your tongue. The meatballs texture is soft and yummy. For you who love thick chicken broth, I recommend you this one.

Beef Croquette

The size of this croquette is quiet large. It consists of potato and beef. The outside texture is crunchy yet soft and yummy inside.

Ebi Tempura

This is the most mainstream snack we can find in Japanese restaurant. It's like usual Ebi Tempura, and I like it.

I chose hot ocha for the drink and it can be refilled anyway. I personally love this restaurant. The price is reasonable considering the taste and the large portion of a bowl of udon. The Japanese atmosphere made me feel like I was eating udon in Japan. My first impression of udon was really nice and I would definitely come back again to Marugame :)

Dessert time at PAUL Patisserie


So, couples months ago I went hang out at Pacific Place, Jakarta. After walked around the mall for about 30 minutes my eyes fell on PAUL as it is a new cafe (not really new actually) located outside the mall in the south lobby. PAUL is the famous patisserie from France. What most interesting from this cafe is the classic European interior.







The smell of fresh breads spread everywhere. I love it! The cakes and breads here are fresh and mouthwatering. I was gonna take and eat them all!



Too bad I forgot the name of this cake. But hey, look! It's pretty cute isn't it? I was thinking "oh should I eat and spoil this cutie? It's too pretty to be eaten" But at the end I ate it cause I paid for it haha and It tasted yummmmmmy! I loved the cream between the crunchy sweet crust. It's soooo soft and creamy and it instantly melted in my mouth. And I was like "this is definitely my fav!"


Raisins cinnamon roll (if I'm not mistaken). Just like an usual cinnamon roll but I loved it as well! It's sweet but not too sweet and also the thick texture of the bread will satisfy your tummy.

I choose mineral water for the drink to neutralize the sweetness of the cakes. Overall, I quite enjoyed my dessert time there. The place, the cakes, the circumstances were made my day. But one thing is.. The price is way too pricey for me as I was a student at that time. That's all from me, have a good Friday!

Trip to Bali

I was so excited to finally got there last year. Bali is such a beautiful, peaceful and exotic island. Here are my short 3 days trip to Bali pictures.

Tanah Lot
Located in Tabanan, about 20 kilometres (12 mi) from Denpasar, Tanah Lot is a popular tourism and cultural icon. It's a beautiful place to visit when you are in Bali. I suggest you to bring sunblock or hat to avoid sunburned, seriously, It's pretty hot there! 

Kuta Central Park Hotel
Located in the heart of Kuta, Kuta Central Park Hotel gives us an easy access to Kuta Beach. The service and the room was good (too bad, I didn't took any hotel room pictures).
I loooveee every foods there especially their sausage! 3 days breakfast with sausage never got me bored.

Penglipuran Village

Penglipuran Village is a traditional countryside with unique characteristic life, socializing, and culture. It's located in Kubu Village, Bangli Sub district and Bangli Regency. The natural and clean environments of countryside is designating the pittance touch of modernization influence. Penglipuran is the most clean village I've ever seen.

Kintamani is a village on the western edge of the larger caldera wall of Gunung Batur in Bali, Indonesia. You'll find a fascinating view along the way to Kintamani. Let the picture speaks.

Kecak Dance
Kecak (also known as the Ramayana Monkey Chant) is a form of Balinese dance and music drama that was developed in the 1930s in Bali, Indonesia. It is performed by a circle of at least 150 performers wearing checked cloth around their waists, percussively chanting "cak" and moving their hands and arms, depicts a battle from the Ramayana. Impressive!

Alright, I'm actually not a kind of beach girl but I have no idea why did I dare to try this kind of sport. I should admit that it was the most insane decision I've ever made in my whole life!

 The island with amazing, exotic, peaceful places and unique traditions has stole my heart. I will definately come back! ♥
